[In some ways, Akira might be right. All humans are capable of being consumed by their own selfishness, so much so that they lose sight of comon decency and reality altogether. Simon is no different and, if he doesn't dare to change his fate, will be just another glaring example of why Akira has been so disappointed by all of mankind.
But in some ways, though the horrors and atrocities he has committed up to this point, albeit unknowingly... Perhaps they can be atoned for. Maybe the future will be brighter. Simon has only had one friend his whole life, after all, and maybe that is why-]
